V008: PATTERNS OF SUPERIOR HYPOPHYSEAL ARTERY INVOLVEMENT IN DIAPHRAGMA SELLA MENINGIOMA VERSUS TUBERUCLUM SELLA MENINGIOMA
Ali H Palejwala, MD; Matei Banu, MD; Juan Fernandez-Miranda, MD; Stanford University
Tuberculum sella meningiomas (TS) and diaphragma sella (DS) meningiomas are both grouped together in the suprasellar space. Though relatively similar in location, the difference in dural attachments change the tumor’s association with the superior hypophyseal artery (SHA) complex. In this video we demonstrate how DS meningiomas encase the SHA complex. This necessitates a different dissection technique than a TS meningioma, in which the SHA complex is pushed posteriorly.
