V032: FLOW REVERSAL TREATMENT OF GIANT ICA ANEURYSM BY IMAX- MCA BYPASS
Alexander Kuffer, MD; Amir R Dehdashti, MD; Northwell
Giant ICA aneurysms are challenging for conventional endovascular or surgcial treatment. A young patient had a giant left ICA aneurysm complaining of headache/visual deficit. He passed the balloon test occlusion. However considering young age, and to avoid contralateral aneurysm formation, an IMax-saphenous vein-MCA bypass was performed followed by ligation of cervical ICA. Patient tolerated the procedure well with no new neurological deficit. Postoperative angiogram shows complete exclusion of the aneurysm and patency of the bypass.
