V112: CEREBELLAR HEMANGIOBLASTOMA
Ari D Kappel, MD; Omar Arnaout, MD; Brigham and Women's Hospital
Cerebellar hemangioblastomas are uncommon intracranial tumors accounting for approximately 1.5 to 2.5% of all primary intraaxial brain tumors1. Surgical resection is the mainstay of treatment, however hemangioblastomas are hypervascular tumors that can be difficult to resect safely. Preoperative embolization may aid in safe surgical resection. Here we demonstrate a case of a 79 year-old-male with a hypervascular, solid WHO grade 1 cerebellar hemangioblastoma who underwent suboccipital craniotomy for resection.
