The North American Skull Base Society (NASBS) has established a Radiology Lectureship to honor the seminal contributions of Hugh Curtin, MD to the development of skull base surgery and the foundation of the society. This lectureship in his honor was announced at the NASBS 2022 Annual Meeting of the NASBS in Phoenix, AZ. The proceeds from the lectureship will be used to support a guest Radiology lecturer at the Annual Meeting each year.
Hugh Curtin started his radiology career at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he worked with colleagues in otolaryngology and neurosurgery to provide a road map for skull base surgery. Following Pittsburgh, he moved to Boston to become the Chair of Radiology at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. He has had a distinguished career and is Past President of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology and the North American Skull Base Society. Dr Curtin has influenced innumerable careers across specialties and made lasting contributions to skull base surgery.
