This session will highlight the unique challenges in pediatric skull base, from a generalized overview to more specific challenges we face in children, key to choose the best possible approach from a multidisciplinary perspective. Considerations on the hypothalamic-pituitary function, the role of radiation and unique anatomic aspects that could determine the approach or the reconstruction will be discussed in this session.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Identify unique challenges in pediatric skull base.
- Evaluate the particular endocrinological considerations in children when we choose a treatment.
- Identify unique anatomic considerations in children that can affect approach or reconstruction.
