Orbital Education Day Part 2: Margins In The Orbit: Fantasy or Reality?
18th February, 2024, 08:35 - 09:35
Imperial Ballroom
This session will address the controversies of operating on and radiating neoplasms adjacent to and involving the orbit. Otolaryngologists, ophthalmologists, plastic surgeons, and neurosurgeons who operate at the anterior skull base should attend. Part of the session will be devoted to the particular considerations of orbital surgery in children.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Predict via radiologic studies the likelihood of orbital involvement in skull base pathology.
- Plan an appropriate method of orbital reconstruction after any level of surgical resection.
- Design an orbit-sparing surgical plan when appropriate.
- Infer from pathology and radiologic studies what will be the effect of surgery on a child`s facial and visual development.
