Unusual Temporal Bone Lesions & Management Strategies

This one hour session will be a case based program where the moderator will present four cases of unusual lesions of the lateral skull base including a very large destructive cholesteatoma, a malignant jugular paraganglioma, a chondrosarcoma, a large papillary endolymphatic sac tumor and a facial schwannoma. The panel, consisting of a neurosurgeon, a neurotologist and a radiation oncologist will field questions about the management of these lesions including surgical approaches and radiation considerations.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, attendees will be able to:
- Understand the surgical approaches to unusual skull base lesions.
- Describe the indications for radiation therapy for unusual skull base lesions.
- Identify the cranial nerves at risk with unusual skull base lesions management.
