Laboratory Research Opportunities | The Rhoton Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology Anatomy Program at Mayo Clinic is a world-class anatomy program focused on skull base anatomy, surgical innovation, 3D anatomy and virtual reality. The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery has a dedicated anatomy laboratory space at the Anatomy Department of the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. This anatomy laboratory is fully equipped with 6 stations for endoscopic sinonasal and skull base dissections. The laboratory will be available 24/7 for the fellow not only for training of surgical skills but also for research. Our fellow will have exposure to this program and the opportunity to be involved in many of its activities. The fellow will have the opportunity to attend our “Mayo Clinic Open and Endoscopic Techniques in Cranial Base Surgery Course” and help with our annual sinonasal and skull base dissection course for the residents. One great advantages of our anatomy lab is the availability of high-quality and vessel colored-injected anatomical specimens for dissections. The fellow will have the opportunity to order a specimen for dissection in preparation for complex surgical cases prior to the day of the surgery. |
